Ada's Engines (PCVR)
A downloadable VR lab
Anyone can be a programmer in Ada's Engines VR!
This is a paid preview version for PCVR (e.g, Oculus Rift and Quest Link). You will receive an Oculus Store key to redeem Ada's Engines. Thanks for funding our further development for bringing science and history to VR.
[Oculus Rift v1.24]
- Visit Charles Babbage's salon and meet Ada Lovelace.
- Crank the Difference Engine I to learn the Method of Finite Difference.
- Check out the Difference Engine II that calculates polynomials up to the 7th degree!
- Visit Ada Lovelace in her dreamscape and operate on her Analytical Engine_. Ada said "the engine might compose elaborate and scientific pieces of music of any degree of complexity or extent".
- Use the piano keyboard to create inputs and then use the control panel to modify the inputs.
Meet Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage in their 19th-century workshop.
Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was a British mathematician and thinker and considered the first computer programmer. She was in close correspondence with engineer and inventor, Charles Babbage (1791-1871), who created the Difference Engine, demonstrating that mechanical operations can imitate the human mind to physically perform mathematical calculations. Inspired by Babbage’s subsequent invention the Analytic Engine, Lady Lovelace envisioned the first programmable machine. Her writing around the Analytic Engine directly inspired the creation of the modern programmable computer.
With Ada’s Engines, travel back in time to Babbage’s salon to witness the Difference Engines in action. Then, find yourself transported to an Industrial Age workshop existing only in Lovelace’s dreamscape. Finally, compile and execute a piece of music on a programmable Analytic Engine, as envisioned by Lovelace a whole century before the dawn of the Computer Age.
Ada's Engines VR app is created with Unreal Engine 4. Please let us know what you think :) Please consider supporting our indie development by being a subscriber of ScienceVR via sciencevr.com.

Hey I redeemed the key in the oculus store but I don't see any actual way to download the game? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there, you can find Ada's Engines in Oculus Desktop app. The key is for Oculus Rift/Quest Link (PCVR). We are still working on the Oculus Quest version and will add it here as free upgrade.
Thanks for providing oculus keys for other purchases.
Any chance this will come to Quest with standalone apk?
Hey! We are working on it and it will be added for free update in the near future. Thanks for supporting us!
